Catching Up #2

One of the families serving here took us on a picnic in a park near Saket where we were living at the time. As been noted before, antiquities abound!

Qtub Minar Park
The Qtub is an intriguing piece of architecture having been built by a Hindu ruler in honor of his Muslim countrymen. Consequently, this is a display of Muslim architecture that uncharacteristically incorporates many representations of people and objects - normally a violation of Muslim principles of non-representation.













Here the Lindleys try their hand at another kind of "tower building" - Jenga! We're told the world record for Jenga is 40 levels - we've reached the low 30s.











An archaeological excavation taking place at the site of an ancient village. In more "recent days" the British used to come here from Delhi for summer time relief from the heat.

By contrast with the many antiquities that abound, today many malls and new residential areas are being built that would be recognizable in many highly developed urban centers.
