Waiting

We're waiting now.

Chris, Nicole, and Esther are scheduled to arrive at the Delhi Airport this Tuesday, 8 PM our time.

We're waiting.

We've been reviewing Esther's Blog (http://elindley.blogspot.com), Chris & Nicole's Blog, and Chris' website (www.negashhi.org) in anticipation of their coming.

They're planning to be in Delhi for a couple weeks, then settle in Aligarh, a city a couple hours away to the SouthEast of us.

Since we're waiting, I've been thinking about a couple biblical admonitions related to waiting:
Psalm 46:10 - "Be still and know that I am God."
Hebrews 11:10, 13-16 - "...All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance..."

Hmmm...a little different sort of "waiting."

TEACHER APPRECIATION DAY
September 5 is Teacher Appreciation Day in India - a BIG deal in the eyes of some. So, Janis organized a student response to our East West Language Institute teachers.

On Wednesday, the teachers who were present were given a "chai" mug filled with sweets and a card signed by as many students of that teacher as Janis could get.

Today (Thursday), the teachers were recognized again by the students. One student told a joke in honor of one of our Hindi teachers who is well known for his daily joke telling. Janis read a poem she composed, "Seven Secrets of Success," in which she rhymed about qualities of each of the teachers. Following this brief presentation, the teachers were treated to lots of refreshments.

We hope the teachers truly felt appreciated for their hard work in teaching us.
